As you may already be aware, David Keys began his career at Albion in 1995, and became Managing Director in 2001. More recently, he also became Managing Director of Albion’s sister company – Albion Valves (International) Limited. Over his 28 years at Albion, he has seen the company grow exponentially, not just in terms of turnover, but also number of staff, product portfolio, and value-added services offered.
David has now taken the decision to retire from his current role at Albion Valves (UK) Limited from the 31st March 2025. Having said this, David will still be involved in the company as he will become the Chairman for Albion Valves (UK) Limited from April 2025, and he will also remain Managing Director for Albion Valves (International) Limited.
It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that Darren Baxter, current Sales and Marketing Director, will be appointed as Managing Director from the 1st April 2025.
Again, many of you will have worked with Darren over the past 18 years. Darren is quite the success story – he started with the company in 2005 at only 20 years old as Trainee Commercial Manager, before working his way up the ranks to Commercial Manager, Commercial Director, and Sales and Marketing Director. The Board and Shareholders unanimously elected Darren to be the next Managing Director for Albion Valves (UK) Limited, we are sure you will agree with us that this is a well-deserved promotion, and he will be a great fit for the role.
To ensure a seamless transition and continuity for all of Albion’s stakeholders, this handover has been carefully planned and will take place over the coming 18-month period. From a customer’s perspective, Darren’s role will not change in the short term, he will remain your point of contact until further notice, despite his job title changing to Deputy Managing Director throughout this interim period.
Obviously, this news will leave a vacancy within our current Board of Directors. Dan Crosswaite, our current Regional Contracts Manager for the North of England will be promoted to Sales Director. Dan will begin his new role from the 1st October 2023, and will be responsible for all of Albion’s External Sales Team and our Internal Projects Team. Again, the Board and Shareholders were unanimous in their decision to invite Dan Crosswaite to join the Board. Dan has been with Albion for over three years and during this time he has shown extraordinary dedication to his role, and we believe he will be a great addition to our Board of Directors.
Work has already begun to fulfil the Regional Contracts Manager vacancy in the North of England, further updates on this will be provided in due course.
This is a positive move for Albion which sees us future-proofing the business whilst also keeping up with year-on-year growth and moving the business forward.
