York House – London
Project name: York House
Location: London
Contractor: Global Pipe Services Limited
Project Overview:
York House is a project that showcases the commitment to environmental sustainability and decarbonisation. As part of this initiative, Albion valves and grooved system was utilised throughout the project.
Objective:
The main objective of the project was to implement energy-efficient and effective climate control while eliminating the use of natural gas from the premises. The aim was to embrace innovation and prioritise the reduction of embodied carbon, focusing on the total carbon emissions associated with the entire lifecycle of the building.
Solution:
To achieve these goals, two 4-pipe chillers were installed in York House. These chillers were designed to provide both heating and cooling to different areas of the building simultaneously. By utilising this system, we were able to offer efficient climate control while completely removing the need for natural gas.
Benefits:
1. Energy Efficiency: The installation of two 4-pipe chillers allowed for the optimisation of energy usage by providing heating and cooling as required, resulting in reduced energy consumption and cost savings.
2. Effective Climate Control: The Albion valves ensured precise control of the climate in different areas of the building, providing comfort to occupants while maintaining energy efficiency.
3. Decarbonisation: By eliminating natural gas usage, we significantly reduced the carbon footprint of York House, contributing to our overall commitment to environmental sustainability.
4. Low Carbon Future: The project exemplified our dedication to creating a lasting impact and contributing to a low-carbon future by prioritising the reduction of embodied carbon.
Jack Brooks, Director at Global Pipe Services Limited, says: “Through the implementation of Albion valves and the utilisation of two 4-pipe chillers, the York House project successfully achieved energy-efficient and effective climate control while eliminating the use of natural gas. By embracing innovation and prioritising the reduction of embodied carbon, we made a significant contribution to environmental sustainability and paved the way for a low-carbon future.”
